Leaders don’t leave anyone behind
We often hear from our community of disability ERG/Network leaders that even if their network is mature, ensuring that the network’s reach and impact extends beyond colleagues in HQ or corporate roles is a challenge.
ERG/Network leaders regularly share examples of the impact:
- Disabled colleagues working in contact centres or warehouses can’t network and connect with other employees with lived experience of disability or long-term conditions.
- Factory workers with disabilities or first responders can’t access content to help them build the confidence to share their stories of disability or request the workplace adjustments or accommodations they need to thrive.
- Organisations can’t learn directly from the experiences of colleagues with disabilities who are transporting products or serving customers in retail environments.
This month we invite you to consider:
- How can you ensure that all disabled colleagues regardless of location and work setting benefit from your ERG/Network's activity?
- What do you need to do differently to create impact beyond corporate HQ?
- Who do you need to work with in order to extend the ERG’s reach and how will you know when you have been successful?
New guidance
This month we publish new guidance for ERG leaders on extending the ERG/Network's reach and influence beyond corporate HQ in order to benefit colleagues in front line settings such retail, warehouse, contact centre, factory and logistics.
